About Helen
Associate Trainer, Sheffield & Chesterfield Area
Helen is our Associate Trainer for the Sheffield and Chesterfield areas and teaches both Gundog Puppy and the Pet Gundog Foundations Courses, as well as offering private 1-1 sessions.
With over 20 years of teaching experience in a primary school with an integrated SEN unit, Helen brings a wealth of patience, clarity & real empathy; all essential ingredients for great dog training. And human coaching, too
She’s also been deepening her dog training knowledge through study with PACT focusing on the theory side of how dogs learn, and is now a fully accredited instructor, so the practical know-how is backed up with science, too.
Helen works her dogs on the beating and picking up lines during the shooting season on a small local shoot and is completing the Gundog Club Field Tests with both Ghillie and Callie.
Qualifications & Other Accreditations
- An Accredited PACT-KSA Trainer ( Professional Association of Canine Trainers)
- An Accredited member of the Animal Behaviour & Training Council (ABTC)

Meet Helen's Dogs
Mollie, WCS
Mollie, Helen’s eldest dog at nearly 8 years old, is the one who sparked her journey into the world of gundog training. Small but mighty, Mollie has a heart full of love for everyone she meets. Whether she’s curled up on the sofa or out working on the shoot, she’s always content. A true "little miss reliable," with just enough sassy spice to keep Helen on her toes. You’ll often see Mollie lending a paw in the Puppy and Pet Gundog Foundation Classes, showing the ropes to the younger ones.

Ghillie, WCS
What can I say about Ghillie?
He’s loving, bird-obsessed, and probably rocking the coolest hairstyle around. With an honest heart and a relentless drive, his main goal in life is to work, work, work. As a typical, fizzy Cocker, Ghillie approaches everything at full throttle, with a zest for life that’s hard to match. But when he’s at home, he knows how to switch off and soak up all the affection he can get.
